LOW WATER, LOW MAINTENANCE
LOW WATER, LOW MAINTENANCE
A sustainable landscape is one that requires little input from you; it should sustain itself. Creating a plan that is responsible for the local ecosystem and incorporates the right plants in the right place dramatically reduces maintenance. My goal is to help you create the landscape of your dreams in a way that uses less water and requires less maintenance.
My name is Kaaren (car-in) Davis, and I’m proud to call Cache Valley home. The mountains that surround me are my greatest source of inspiration. I graduated from Utah State University with dual majors in Plant Science and Residential Landscape Design and Construction, and I’ve spent many years working in maintenance, installation, and nursery settings. I have been designing landscapes professionally for the last 6 years.
My passion lies in plants and the way they connect us to the earth. I strive to design landscapes that heal the land and nurture both its human and non-human inhabitants. It saddens me how disconnected our culture has become from nature, and I believe I have tools to help mend that rift—by creating spaces that welcome people outdoors, invite interaction between species, balance beauty with function, and provide both nourishment and underappreciated resources to homeowners.
If your goal is a well-designed, functional space that welcomes you, I can help you achieve that. Whether you share my level of enthusiasm for plants and the ecosystem or not, that’s perfectly okay! I’ve dedicated my life to this work: so you don’t have to.
Whether you’re looking for a quick brainstorming session or full project oversight from concept to installation, I’m here to support you at any stage of your landscaping journey. I love the unique challenges each property brings and the joy of helping people create beautiful, responsible spaces they truly enjoy being in.

Designing a permaculture system requires someone who understands the ecosystem and how to maximize the microclimates and natural characteristics of the land for food production and resource management. Combine that with training and experience in horticulture, cropping systems, fruit production, arboriculture, silvopasture and general obsession with gardening and you are set up for success. I would love to help you create your sustainable permaculture farm or yard at any level. The principles of restorative agriculture trickle down into all of my designs whether directly requested or not, they are principles of a sustainable system and that is my goal for every space I design.
From soil quality and drainage to microclimates and existing plants, each landscape is unique and requires someone who knows how these elements interact. Understanding the relationship of all the parts of the landscape makes the difference in the success of the plan.
In the end the most important details are the ones I get from you. It is your space and the goal is to meet your needs there. I am grateful for every chance I get to help someone meet their goals!
